Files to prepare

A strong RFQ usually includes both a 3D CAD model and a 2D drawing. The 3D model defines shape; the drawing defines manufacturing and inspection requirements.

Checklist

  • 3D file: STEP, STP, IGS or native CAD when available.
  • 2D drawing: tolerances, threads, finish, datum, notes.
  • Material grade, quantity range, finish, delivery target and any certificate needs.

Useful context

Tell the supplier if the part is for prototype validation, a fixture, a replacement component or a repeat production run.

For a useful review, include:

  • Material and quantity
  • Critical tolerances
  • Surface finish and target delivery
Drawings & supporting files (optional) 0 of 10 files

For faster review, include a PDF drawing and STEP/STP model. For assemblies, package all referenced parts and the BOM in one archive.
