1. Drawing Files
- STEP / STP Models: 3D CAD files for CNC toolpathing and mass/volume calculations.
- PDF Drawings: 2D vector sheets containing critical tolerancing, fits, thread details, and datum notes.
- DWG / DXF: Vector contours for sheet metal flat layouts or wire EDM paths.
2. Processing Specifications
- Material Grade: Specify alloy spec such as AL 6061-T6, SUS304, Ti-6Al-4V or plastic polymers like PEEK and POM.
- Quantity Desired: Note prototype quantities, first articles, or production batch levels.
- Surface Finishes: Call out anodizing, zinc plating, bead blasting, or standard machine finish needs.
- Critical Tolerances: Specify precision fits tighter than ISO 2768-m, such as tight bores or datum features.
